Another day, another Madonna / Instagram scandal. This time though, the Queen of Pop has actually apologized for her questionable actions. In case you haven't noticed, Madge loves herself some Instagram. She also seems to love stirring up trouble about 90% of the time she shares a photo. Case and point, it was just two weeks ago that people were in an uproar after she possibly revealed that she allows her underage son to partake in adult beverages.
Today though, she's busy doing damage control after posting an image of her 13-year-old son Rocco along with a hashtag that included the always inappropriate n-word. The original post, which has since been deleted, was meant to be a show of pride for her son as he boxed his little heart out. The photo showed Rocco boxing, along with the message, "No one messes with Dirty Soap! Mama said knock you out! #disn***a”
Shortly thereafter, the message was replaced with a newer, more defensive one.
"Ok let me start this again. #get off of my d**k haters!"
And just a few hours ago, just after Hell froze over, the Associate Press won the lottery and got an official apology from Madonna herself:
“I am sorry if I offended anyone with my use of the N word on Instagram. It was not meant as a racial slur. I am not a racist. There’s no way to defend the use of the word. It was all about intention,” she said. “It was used as a term of endearment toward my son who is white. I appreciate that it’s a provocative word and I apologize if it gave people the wrong impression.”
That statement can now be found on Instagram in all its apologetic glory.
