Wazobia FM’s OAP Akas Baba Under Intensive Care After Release

Wazobia FM’s On-Air Personality (OAP), Anthony Akatakpo, popularly known as ‘Akas Baba’, has been set free by his abductors.

He was released in the wee hours of Thursday morning and rushed to an undisclosed hospital immediately for treatment.

It would be recalled that Akas Baba was shot and abducted exactly one week ago by unknown gunmen from his Port-Harcourt residence in the presence of family members. Thereafter, a ransom N10 million was demanded for, by the perpetrators.

Meanwhile, within days of the incident, singer, Duncan Mighty, had led a group of people in a solidarity march in Port-Harcourt aimed at creating awareness and instigating action towards actualizing his release.

Kidnapping is a crime that has become prevalent in Nigeria in recent years. Politicians and their aides, family members, celebrities among others have been victims.
