Manchester City enter the 2014-15 campaign
looking to win their third Premier League crown in four seasons, but
will be fully aware that a handful of rivals are ready to do everything
in their power to dethrone the Citizens.
The path to the 2014-15 title was revealed on Wednesday. The Premier League's official website provides the entire season's fixture list. Here is the full opening weekend:
Manchester United have the most eye-catching run-in among the country's top teams, facing Manchester City, Chelsea and Everton consecutively in April, handing Louis van Gaal an instant hurdle to overcome during his first term in charge at Old Trafford.
Liverpool, meanwhile, face a tricky start, meeting Manchester City and Tottenham in their second and third fixtures respectively. Champions City also face a difficult opening, taking on Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea in their first five fixtures.
If one thing is guaranteed, the 2014-15 campaign will be stacked with genuine world-class attacking talent. Chelsea have already added Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona, and the Spaniard is only expected to be the start of an influx of top names to arrive before the opening day of the season.
Liverpool's Luis Suarez had a record-equalling season last year and a handful of young stars burst onto the scene, including Chelsea's Eden Hazard, Liverpool's Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling and Southampton's Adam Lallana.

Must-See Matchups
Manchester City vs. Liverpool (Aug. 23)
Jamie McDonald/Getty Images
Although City had the last laugh on the final day of the season, the Reds got the better of the Citizens in their most recent matchup in April, winning 3-2 at Anfield on the strength of Philippe Coutinho's strike in the 78th minute.

With plenty of star power on display and title hopes in the balance, this matchup is sure to generate plenty of buzz among Premier League fans.
The two clubs will surely be battling with Arsenal and Chelsea for top spot. Last season, Blues manager Jose Mourinho expressed optimism his side would make strides in the summer, per The Telegraph's Matt Law: "The title race is between two horses and a little horse that needs milk and needs to learn how to jump. Maybe next season we can race."
This match will likely be key not only to Liverpool and Manchester City's hopes, but also to those of Chelsea too.
Arsenal vs. Manchester United (Nov. 22)

Surprisingly, the Gunners struggled against an under-performing United side that finished seventh in the league last term. Arsenal were shut out 1-0 at Old Trafford in the two English superpowers' first meeting in November, and were forced to settle for a 0-0 draw at the Emirates in their second matchup in February.
Arsene Wenger's squad will be looking for much more than one point when they match up against the Red Devils in 2014-15. Finding success against United and the league's other top-tier clubs will be paramount to Arsenal's chances of ending their decade-long title drought.
Manchester United vs. Manchester City (Apr. 11)

Manchester United and Manchester City have combined to win each of the past four Premier League titles and are sure to be in the mix for the crown against next season.
While City will be aiming to maintain their champion status, United will be eyeing redemption following a tumultuous season that resulted in the firing of David Moyes in April. Nonetheless, expectations will remain lofty for the Red Devils, particularly after the appointment of Van Gaal.
United certainly won't be short on motivation ahead of their two Premier League clashes with their crosstown rivals, as the Citizens won both meetings by a combined score of 7-1, including a 3-0 humiliation at Old Trafford in March.
Arsenal vs. Chelsea (Apr. 25)

It'll be intriguing to see what kind of reception the Spaniard receives from the Arsenal faithful, having left London for Catalonia in 2011 with the well wishes of every Gunners supporter. Expect those of a blue persuasion to have no problem rubbing that in.

The Gunners will be out for revenge, and with both sides set to invest heavily this summer, the result of this fixture could have a major say in the eventual destination of the Premier League title. Expect a pair of ferociously contested games when these two meet.
