The ‘Soco” crooner took fans by surprise as he broke the completely unexpected news on his Instagram account on Wednesday.
“New music in 5 years,” Wizkid wrote on top of a heart.
Born Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, Wizkid, who is set to drop his album, also listed a number of shows he’s set to headline for the remaining year.
He will be live at the O2 Victoria Warehouse in Manchester, Friday 18th October, followed by a performance at The O2 in London on Saturday 19th October.
Wizkid will perform in Paris on October 26, in Australia on 1st November, and in Ghana at the 2019 Afro Nation on December 27.
It is not yet clear what the Afrobeats star would be doing in the next five years in hiatus, but his comeback is expected to be much more awesome.
